The Academy of Technology at The Bournemouth & Poole College have announced their end of term prizes, amongst them the winner of this years prestigious James Drewitt Memorial Trophy.

Having spent 41 years working for local electrical contractors Drewlec, Michael Knight finally retired this week, aged 65, amongst celebrations with both family and work colleagues at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks.

Drewlec, the Bournemouth based electrical contracting division of the Drewitt Group have announced the appointment of Malcolm Wood as their new Contracts Manager.

It was with great sadness that the local business community learned of the passing of Michael James Drewitt shortly before Christmas last year at Nuffield Hospital Bournemouth of natural causes aged 73.

Bournemouth based electricians, Drewlec Ltd came to the urgent assistance of the Queen Elizabeth Leisure Centre in Wimborne recently when their central battery system needed emergency repairs.

Bournemouth based electricians, Drewlec Ltd have just signed a three year contract with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service to maintain the fire alarm and emergency lighting at all fire stations across Dorset.

Drewitts are one of the many businesses throughout Dorset who have benefited from the apprenticeship scheme. They currently have 3 apprentices throughout their group of companies – a painter, an electrician and a carpenter.
